The Race Director for Para Nordic skiing at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, Len Apedaile, has visited the Alpensia Biathlon Centre ahead of March’s Test Event to check the progress of course preparation and assist with final planning details.

Apedaile’s visit coincided with the FIS cross-country skiing World Cup, allowing him to get a sense of the full scope of operations to be expected during the Para Nordic skiing Test Event between 10-15 March.

He reviewed the course preparations, snow quality management and plans for track setting as well as the stadium layouts.

Apedaile reported that the courses for standing and visually impaired skiers are mostly complete and being groomed while snow making and grooming of the sit ski courses is still ongoing.

The PyeongChang 2018 Test Event will also act as a World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup.

Live results will be available at World Para Nordic Skiing’s website.

The Test Event will come just a few weeks after the conclusion of the 2017 World Para Nordic Skiing Championships, being held in Finsterau, Germany, between 10-19 February.
