The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has appointed Saatchi and Saatchi media communications lead John Lisko, the Principal of LISKO LLC, as its external Managing Director of IPC Global Media Rights.

Lisko will support the IPC with more than three decades of experience in strategy, marcomms, media, advertising, events, DEI, and CSR.  For the last 18 years he worked at Saatchi & Saatchi as lead of Media Communications, working to position the Toyota brand, products, and CSR initiatives for awareness and success in US and global markets.

Since 2016 he was co-lead of Toyota’s worldwide mobility partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee. He played a key role in making Toyota the number one US retail automotive/mobility brand, from 2011 onwards.

Supporting the IPC, he will increase the value and broaden the reach and engagement of the IPC’s television and digital media rights, with a specific focus on the LA 2028 Paralympic Games.

Mike Peters, IPC Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are extremely excited about working with LISKO LLC as John brings extensive experience in leveraging sports for business, marketing, and social responsibility.

“He is a proven, purpose-driven senior executive leader with a vast knowledge of sport, the ever-changing media landscape, and securing and leading multi-million dollar rights agreements. His work for Toyota speaks for itself.

“Through LISKO LLC’s appointment we want to further leverage the value and reach of our TV and digital properties, working with existing rights holders and developing new partnerships. In particular, the LA28 Paralympic Games are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Paralympic Movement to make a major breakthrough in the US market and with John’s expertise and know-how, we intend to do just that.”

John Lisko, Principal of LISKO LLC, said: “I am honoured to support the IPC Team and do the work to elevate global visibility of the Paralympic Movement, the Paralympic Games and PARA SPORT. This is a remarkable opportunity for me and LISKO LLC to engage the world in new and truly meaningful ways.”

LISKO LLC will begin work on its brief for the IPC in early 2023.
