IPC invites bids to host VISTA 2027 and VISTA 2029 Scientific Conferences

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has launched the bidding process to host the next two editions of its key scientific conference for Para sport professionals — the VISTA 2027 and VISTA 2029 Scientific Conferences.
First held in 1993 in Canada, VISTA is the IPC’s leading international forum for sport scientists, medical experts, coaches, classifiers, and other stakeholders involved in Para sport. The conference fosters collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation on important topics such as athlete performance, health, and classification. The conferences serve as a bridge between research and practice, promote the development of inclusive sport systems, and inspire new generations of professionals working in Para sport. In these ways, the conferences help shape the future of the Paralympic Movement.
Held every two years, the latest edition of the conference will take place from 7 – 10 December 2025 in Cairo, Egypt with the theme ‘Developing Para Sport: Inclusion, Transformation, Health, and Performance'.
The IPC’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Mike Peters PLY said: "VISTA is an important global event that brings together many of the brightest minds in Para sport science. Hosting VISTA 2027 and VISTA 2029 will provide unique opportunities for sharing evidence-based insights, promote collaboration, encourage innovation, and help shape the future of sport and health for Para athletes.”
The IPC invites bids from interested organisations to host the VISTA 2027 and/or VISTA 2029 Scientific Conferences. The selected Local Organising Committee(s) will play a pivotal role in advancing Para sport globally by delivering a world-class event that embodies the values and vision of the Paralympic Movement.
The VISTA bid document outlines the terms of reference and key hosting requirements. Organisations interested in hosting VISTA 2027 or VISTA 2029 must apply to the IPC in writing to VISTA@paralympic.org. Bids for both editions must be received by 30 April 2026.
