The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has opened nominations for the prestigious 2015 Paralympic Media Awards that will recognise achievements from the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

The Media Awards are presented biennially in partnership with Allianz and were first held in 2005 to honour members of the international media for their coverage of the Paralympic Games.

This year’s awards will be presented on Saturday 14 November in Mexico City, Mexico, and will recognise coverage of the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games covering four areas: broadcast, written (print or online), photo and radio.

In 2013 the awards recognised the extraordinary coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Channel 4 won best broadcast, the Telegraph Media Group came out on top in best written, BBC World Service claimed best radio and Larry Wong, of the Edmonton Journal in Canada was presented with best photo.

All members of the International Paralympic Committee, including National Paralympic Committees, Regional Organisations, International Federations and International Organisations of Sports for the Disabled are eligible to nominate for the respective awards.

Each organisation is entitled to submit one nomination per category and the closing date for entries is Friday 31 July 2015 at 12:00 CET.

An awards committee will select the winners and the awards will be presented at a glittering awards ceremony on 14 November 2015.
