Margareta Israelsson has been re-elected as chairman of the Swedish Para Sports Federation and Swedish Paralympic Committee. Israelsson received 48 votes, as challenger Dedjo Engmark received 11.

Board elections were also conducted on Sunday (10 May) and the eight elected members are Patrik Modin, Lisa Lundell, Asa Llinares Norlin, Tomas Fogdo, Thomas Wilhelm, Ake Hamrin, Ms Bernhardsson and Helena Hagberg.

At the same meeting, the Swedish Organisation for the Disabled and the Swedish Paralympic Committee opted to change their name to the Swedish Para Sports Federation and Swedish Paralympic Committee.

The reception from the association representatives, leaders and athletes was positive, according to Israelsson.

“Para-sport has become an established concept, and is also a concept that is accepted internationally,” Israelsson said.
