International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Andrew Parsons has met the Mayor of Bonn Ashok Sridharan to discuss the city’s continued support for the Paralympic Movement. Bonn is home to the IPC headquarters, and the two men discussed the work of the organisation when they met at the City Hall on Monday (23 October).

Sridharan, who attended the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, was very interested to hear about the preparations for the upcoming PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in South Korea. He will also meet with the IPC Governing Board during their visit to Bonn by the end of January.

“Since my election as IPC President in September, I have had some hectic and busy weeks. This week however it has been great to be in Bonn, to catch-up with the IPC staff at headquarters and to meet the Mayor of the city to talk about the importance of the work we do,” said Parsons.

The IPC headquarters officially opened on 3 September 1999 in Bonn, the former capital city of West Germany.
