New website launched for IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport

Organised by Stitching Brabant Danst and Stichting Rolstoeldansen Nederland, the competition was the 25th anniversary of the event, drawing more than 100 athletes from 20 countries.

The IPC has today (26 June) launched a new-look website for IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport .
Designed and built by international IT services company and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) worldwide IT partner Atos, www.ipc-wheelchairdancesport.org, aims to give visitors a deeper insight into the sport.
The site is a microsite of the main IPC website www.paralympic.org, and integrates the latest news together with historical results and world rankings.
Craig Spence, the IPC’s Director of Media and Communications, said: “The new look site is much fresher and easier to use for visitors.
“Since the re-launch of www.paralympic.org in February 2012 and subsequently our seven Paralympic sport sites we have seen visitor numbers increase by over 100 per cent. By launching this site we have completed our strategy to bring all IPC sports together under one digital hub which users can access from multiple entry points.”
The next major IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport event will take place in Moscow Russia from 31 August-1 September. 150 athletes from more than 20 countries are expected to compete at the 2013 IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport Continents Cup.
Organised by Russia’s Ministry of Sports and Wheelchair Dance Sport Federation, it will be the fifth anniversary of the event under IPC management. The competition has existed since 1998, but prior to 2009 was called the Saint Petersburg Open.
