Ottobock and NPC Germany launch “Talent Days“

The National Paralympic Committee of Germany (DBS) and Worldwide Paralympic Partner Ottobock have launched the “Talent Days”, a new initiative to get youths with an impairment involved in para-sport.
The first youth sport camp will take place from 31 July to 2 August 2015 in Duderstadt, Germany, the home of Ottobock, and is aimed at youths between 11 and 18 years who use prosthesis.
“We see two opportunities of this project,” said DBS President Friedhelm Julius Beucher. “We are looking forward to finding new talents for our para-sports. But it’s equally important for a child or a teenager to experience joy through sport.”
Ottobock will provide their prosthesis 3S80 and Ottobock technicians will make the necessary adjustments for each attendee.
World and Paralympic 100m T42 champion Heinrich Popow will take part in the Talent Days and already has plenty of experience with such camps.
“Too many leg amputees are told sport is not for them. If they then get the sport prosthesis and learn how to use it, their faces light up. It’s pure joy.”
Coaches of the DBS will also provide valuable advise.
