“This unique building is located within walking distance of all the sports venues in the Olympic Park"

The two-storey Media Centre has a total area of over 158,000 square metres and is located in close proximity to the Olympic Park.

During the Paralympic Winter Games which start on 7 March, around 600 media representatives from 30 countries around the world will use the venue.

Inside the Main Media Centre (MMC) is the International Broadcasting Centre with an area of 60,000 square metres and the Main Press Centre with an area of 20,000 square metres.

Along with the three star hotel for media representatives located nearby, the Main Media Centre takes up an area of 20 hectares, an area seven times that of Moscow's Red Square.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, President of the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee, said: "The Main Media Centre has all the conditions for media and broadcasting representatives from around the world for convenient operation.

“This unique building is located within walking distance of all the sports venues in the Olympic Park, which will enable them to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Games in Sochi. I am confident that the Media Centre will become a truly hospitable home for all those who will be working here during the Games."

In the common area, along the so called "Main street" of the Media Centre, there is a bank, post office and courier delivery, pharmacy, laundry and dry cleaning, supermarket, a store with the Sochi 2014 licensed products, an Internet cafe, a gym, a news-stand and more.

The Sochi Games provide a Sochi 2014 Wi-Fi package — absolutely free for accredited press that will make submitting articles for editing, checking email or social networking quick and easy.

The Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games will take place between 7-16 March and will feature around 700 athletes from 45 countries competing in 72 medal events across five sports.
