Dutch snowboarder Chris Vos won the overall men’s banked slalom and snowboard-cross SB-LL1 World Cup globes in 2015-16. He returned to snow in Landgraaf, the Netherlands, in November and won both banked slalom World Cups.

This season he will also look to defend his two titles at the World Para Snowboard Championships in Big White, Canada, from 1-8 February.

The 18-year-old talked about the three things he enjoys the most when he is not dominating on the slopes.

Watching Formula 1

“I like to watch Formula 1 auto racing. I am a huge fan of Dutch driver Max Verstappen. He is also 18 years old just like me. It is great to see how he handles the pressure and how he talks to the media. I learn a lot from him when he talks to the media.”

Cooking

“I am very interested in cooking meals. I have been inspired by my mom Natasja. She cooks a lot of different healthy foods and I like to do the same when I’m home alone. I haven’t been living at my parent’s for the last two years so I have to cook on my own. I like to buy food in little specialty stores and then cook a fancy meal.”

Playing video games

“The other thing I like to do is gaming. When I had my accident at the age of five I did a lot of gaming because I was all day in bed. Nowadays, I like to fly aircrafts for hours. You play it real time and I have the ambition to study for my flight permission papers.”
