Ugur Erdener re-elected World Archery President

Included in the Bronze Plaquette recipients were Rita van Driel, IPC Governing Board Member and retiring chair of World Archery Para-Archery Committee, and Pauline Betteridge, Head of Classification for Para-Archery for 14 years.

At the 50th edition of the World Archery Congress last week, Ugur Erdener was re-elected as World Archery President unopposed, with 93 votes in favour of him and two votes against.

In addition, several Bronze and Silver Plaquettes, and Golden Arrow Awards were represented to leaders in the sport for their dedication to archery.

Included in the Bronze Plaquette recipients were Rita van Driel, IPC Governing Board Member and retiring chair of World Archery Para-Archery Committee, and Pauline Betteridge, Head of Classification for Para-Archery for 14 years.

Van Driel played a key role in the integration of para-archery in World Archery, while Betteridge introduced the concept of classification in archery and trained all of today’s existing classifiers.
