Ukraine will now face the winner of Thursday’s (8 August) semi-final between Paralympic champions Russia and the next Paralympic host nation, Brazil.

Ukraine left no room for surprise in the first semi-final of the 2013 CPISRA Intercontinental Cup on Wednesday (7 August), as their football 7-a-side team left the pitch with a convincing 9-0 victory over Ireland in Barcelona, Spain.

The Ukrainian side had all the attacks in the first half, with their first two goals coming from Oleksandr Devlysh and Antoniuk Volodymyr. Taras Dutko then scored a pair on his own.

In the second half, Ukraine chose to slow down the pace of the game, yet still managed to score three more goals. Devlysh found the back of the net again and Denys Ponomaryov kicked it in as well. A pair of goals by Vitalii Romanchuk padded the Ukrainian victory.
