The website for VISTA 2025, the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) key scientific knowledge sharing event that will be held from 7-10 December in Cairo, Egypt, is now live at vista2025.net.

Hosted by the Egyptian Paralympic Committee, the VISTA 2025 website provides further information about the event, abstract submission, nominations for the IPC Scientific Award and event registration.

This year’s theme is “Developing Para Sport: Inclusion, Transformation, Health, and Performance,” and the event will feature keynote presentations, symposia, oral and poster sessions. The prestigious IPC Scientific Award, which recognises an academic researcher for their contribution to research in the field of Para sport, will also be presented at the conference.

Registration for VISTA 2025 will open soon and an early bird registration fee of EUR 375 is available until 30 September, for students the price is EUR 180.

The VISTA Conference  is an important international scientific gathering that provides a forum for exchanging information, research and expertise related to sport for people with a disability. It brings together experts from diverse fields—including sports science, medicine, technology, sociology, policy, education, and ethics and integrity—to collectively shape the future of Para sport.

First organised by the IPC in 1993, VISTA aimed to address the limited scientific research on elite sport for athletes with an impairment. It has evolved into a key forum for exchange on expertise related to Para sport and the Paralympic Movement. Today, the conference also aims to enhance and promote interaction among sport scientists, coaches, athletes and sport administrators.

Following its successful debut, VISTA has been hosted in various countries including Germany (1999, 2006, 2011, 2013), Sweden (2003), Spain (2015), Canada (2017), and the Netherlands (2019). The 2021 edition was held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions, while the 2023 edition was postponed until 2025.
