The official website for July‘s IBSA Goalball European Championships men and women A, in Kaunas, Lithuania has been launched at www.lasfinfo.lt/en/.

The event which takes place between 5-12 July in the city‘s Sabonis Basketball Hall and Kaunas Sports Hall is the last chance for European goalball teams to qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The website features shedules, entry forms, event history, information about the venues, accomodation, promotional videos about the host city Kaunas, facts about Lithuania and all the latest news.

The participating men‘s teams are: Lithuania, Spain, Turkey, Germany, Czech Republic, Finland, Belgium, Slovenia, Sweden and Ukraine. Team in the women‘s competition include: Russia, Turkey, Israel, Finland, Germany, Ukraine, Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Greece.

Linas Balsys, President of the Lithuanian Blind Sports Federation, said that organisers are expecting approximately 260 participants from 14 countries.

The IBSA European Goalball Championships 2015 are under the patronage of the H.E. Dalia Grybauskaite, President of Lithuania.
