Austrian skiers once again claimed three wins at the IPC Alpine Skiing Europa Cup in Espot, Spain, on Tuesday (9 February), with Gernot Morgenfurt, Martin Wuerz and Roman Rabl all victorious in super combined.

An exceptional slalom run from Wuerz (1:24.15) saw him improve on a second placed super-G to claim maximum points in the men’s standing for the second consecutive day.

His teammate Andreas Kurz (1:29.14) also moved from a fifth place super-G performance to second in slalom, to join Wuerz on the podium. Italy’s Nicolo Orsini (1:29.74) was third.

Rabl (1:21.38) was in winning form once again in the men’s sitting, posting leading times in both disciplines.

The Netherlands’ Niels de Langen (1:27.18) was second, securing his first Europa Cup podium. France’s Mathieu Camus (1:31.20) completed the podium in third as he had done on Monday (8 February).

Morgenfurt (1:26.96) finished the men’s visually impaired in first place to double up on his wins in Espot with guide Christoph Peter Gmeiner.

Racing continues in Espot on Wednesday (10 February) with giant slalom.
