When and where did you begin this sport?
She began swimming at age six with Kingston Y Penguins Aquatic Club in Ontario, Canada.
Why this sport?
When she first joined Kingston Y Penguins Aquatic Club she feared the water because she was unable to swim. "I cried because I was afraid and wanted to make myself do it. It was such a neat feeling to be able to use my body to get through water once I learned to swim."

Impairment
She was born with cerebral palsy, which affects all four of her limbs. She also has dystonia in her right arm and both legs, a neurological condition which causes involuntary muscle contractions. "The combination of both of them [both conditions], I get spasms in my right arm that can be a bit of a struggle when it comes to swimming, because I use my arms so much.
