After his accident he decided to focus on two things he had always enjoyed, music and swimming.

Impairment
In December 2013 he did a flip into a foam pit at a trampoline park. He broke the C7 vertebra in his neck and was paralysed from the chest down. He required two spinal operations. "We just started bouncing and going into the foam pits. My little sister went, and then I went and just kind of had a freak accident and broke my neck."
