Sport specific information

When and where did you begin this sport?
He switched to Para cross-country skiing after he was ruled out of contention to compete in Para swimming at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He had also considered switching to wheelchair marathon racing. "From that moment I decided to aim for something else. First I went to wheelchair marathons. I participated twice in the Berlin Marathon [in 2018 and 2019], it went well and I finished around the top 20 both times. But my preparation was not really aimed only at that and I had already started Nordic skiing."
Why this sport?
"When I started skiing I experienced a feeling of freedom. Swimming is practised indoors while skiing is outdoors, surrounded by nature. Fortunately my swimming preparation has given me so much strength and endurance, which is helpful on the snow."
