Impairment
At age 14 he rescued his cousin from being seriously hurt in a rice mill but got his right arm caught in a threshing machine by doing so. "I tried to stand up but I saw my bones crushed, I saw my joints. It happened around 19:00 but I had to wait until 21:00 before I was taken to hospital. I was operated on at 04:00 the next day. I was almost dead. They had no choice but to amputate my arm." (inquirer.net, 08 Jul 2012)

He is part of the Wetshop Para Tri Team that competes in able-bodied triathlon competitions along with two other athletes with an impairment.
