Sport specific information

When and where did you begin this sport?
He first tried skiing while recovering from his accident, and took up Para alpine skiing competitively in 1986. He began Para Nordic skiing after competing in alpine skiing at the 2002 Paralympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. "I figured it is never too late to check out Nordic skiing and, five years after that, I decided to see what cross-country skiing was all about."
Why this sport?
"When I was in rehab, they started telling me about the things I could still do after I ended up in the chair. They sent a guy over to the rehab centre to visit me. He was a sit-skier and he started telling me about it. The world's largest adaptive ski programme is in Winter Park, Colorado [United States of America]. I got my first lesson how to sit-ski [there]. They told me I was a natural at it and so I was on my way to competing for 23 seasons as a downhill alpine skier."
