Australia capture two wheelchair basketball titles

Both squads went through the tournament undefeated on their way to winning gold, tallying a combined record of 15-0.

Australia’s men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams are both heading to the 2014 IWBF World Championships after winning the 2013 IWBF Asia-Oceania Zone Championships last weekend in Bangkok, Thailand.

Both squads went through the tournament undefeated on their way to winning gold, tallying a combined record of 15-0.

The Australian women’s team defeated China in the final 57-35, finishing the tournament with an 8-0 record.

In the men’s competition, Australia defeated South Korea in the final 74-60, with 22 points and eight rebounds from Shaun Norris. Justin Eveson helped out the winning team, posting 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
