“The APC believes it is a partnership that can make a truly meaningful impact for Australians with a disability and can positively shape perception of people with disabilities within the Australian community.”

The Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) and The Seven Network, Australia’s most-watched broadcast television platform, are pleased to announce a new partnership for the broadcast coverage of the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in March.

The new agreement follows on from the hugely successful broadcast coverage of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, and will be the first time the Paralympic Winter Games will be shown on a commercial television network in Australia.

Seven’s agreement with the APC will deliver coverage of Australia’s Winter Paralympic sport across Seven’s television, digital and print media assets to bring the stories of Australia’s winter Paralympic athletes to more Australians than ever before.

Coverage during every day of the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games will include a daily highlights show to be broadcast on 7MATE every morning, with an encore highlights on 7TWO and Channel 7 in the evening.

APC President Glenn Tasker said: “Today is a proud day for the Australian Paralympic movement as it continues our ground-breaking partnership with Seven West Media.

“Seven did an outstanding job in broadcasting the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and we’re very excited to have their full support once again as we work towards sharing the stories and successes of Australia’s Paralympic Winter athletes at the PyeongChang 2018 Games.

“We’re grateful for Seven Network’s commitment to Paralympic sport and for their pursuit to embrace the values of the Paralympic movement across their organisation at all levels.

“The APC believes it is a partnership that can make a truly meaningful impact for Australians with a disability and can positively shape perception of people with disabilities within the Australian community.”

Australia will compete in alpine skiing and snowboarding at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, which will take place from 9-18 March 2018.
