Call for Abstracts 2009 International Symposium on Adapted Physical Activity

The city of Gävle, Sweden, will host the 2009 International Symposium on Adapted Physical Activity (ISAPA) on the theme “APA for Health, Participation, Accessibility and Performance” from 23 to 27 June 2009. 28 Oct 2008 By IPC

The theme will be explored via keynote presentations, invited symposia, oral presentations and practical workshops. Abstract submissions are welcomed by 30 November 2008.

Keynote speakers include Dr. Jeff Martin (challenges in sport psychology), Dr. Brueggeman (The Oscar Pistorius case), Dr. Bengt Saltin (exercise as therapy in chronic disease) and Dr. Taina Rantanen (Aging and strength training). Invited symposia will cover : inclusion in physical education, anthropology and sociology in APA, prevention of injuries in disability sport, exercise of Cerebral Palsy children, rehabilitation ergonomics and APA in post-disaster intervention.

ISAPA 2009 will have an international volunteer programme to give students from different countries an opportunity to work together with the ISAPA 2009 Organizing Committee and at the same time experience ISAPA 2009 without any cost for accommodation, meals or registration, as well as a Scholarship programme to waive registration fee for participants from developing countries.
