The Germany Paralympic and Olympic teams modeled their kits for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games during an event held in Dusseldorf.

Top German athletes such as Para alpine skiers Andrea Rothfuss and Georg Kreiter, and Para Nordic skier Clara Klug showcased the Adidas outfits during the event, alongside several Olympic counterparts.

"It was a remarkable event that once again showed what impressive athletes we have in our teams, even off the competition. They are self-confident and radiate strength and dedication in an exemplary and sympathetic way, "said Dirk Schimmelpfennig, Head of Mission in PyeongChang and Chief of Competitive Sports at the DOSB (Der Deutsche Olympische Sportbund). "The new outfit underlines this impression. Adidas has created a cool, idiosyncratic look here - with everything functional clothing has to offer today. "

Whether in hoodie or parka, the athletes will be represented in a playful, modern and stylish way at the Games. This is ensured by the contemporary design combined with innovative technology. The outfit for the Opening Ceremony follows an urban street style in terms of material, form and colours - enhanced with details such as a Team Deutschland badge made of leather on the jacket. The simplicity of the styles is further enhanced by high-quality details and applications. The entire collection is assembled in a modern multi-layering concept, so that the high-performance products combine their individual characteristics. Thus, the athletes are equipped with the optimal clothing before, during and after the competition.

The equipment comprises a total of more than 50 parts: the podium and training clothing as well as the official equipment for the entry of the athletes into the stadium. In addition, all German athletes will be equipped with the latest and most innovative shoes. The Adidas TERREX shoes offer optimal protection against cold and other weather conditions at the Opening Ceremony, while the athletes are provided with additional comfortable and functional shoes such as the Supernova GTX for presentation and training.

Rothfuss said the new outfit gives an extra motivation kick with regard to the upcoming Paralympics: "If you see the stuff in the original for the first time and put it on, you might want to give it a little more, and then really to be there. In addition, the parts are different than what you normally see in the sports environment.

Kreiter added:" The collection is super cool and really comfortable.
