The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Asia Oceania Zone has released the match schedule for the 2017 IWBF Asia Oceania Championships for Men and Women.

The Championships will take place in the Chinese Paralympic Training Venue in Beijing, China from 23-28 October.

Forty-five matches will be played across two courts over six days as the teams battle it out to not only to be crowned the Asia Oceania Champions, but also for a place at the IWBF World Championships 2018.

In the men’s competition the 14 teams will be split across four pools and play a round robin, with the top two in each pool progressing through to the quarter-finals, followed by semi-finals and finals. The top four in the competition will claim a ticket to next year's World Championships in Hamburg.

With only two spots available at the World Championships for the women’s teams, Australia, Iran, Japan and hosts China will play a round robin to determine semi-final placings, with the victorious teams claiming a spot in the final and a place at the World Championships.

Hosts China will tip-off the Championships as their men’s team face Afghanistan in the opening game. Their female counterparts will face a tough start against Australia.
