It has been announced that the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Village will temporarily be made available to health sector authorities to treat COVID-19 coronavirus patients and cope with the pandemic.

Starting on 19 March, a complete tower will be opened to make the Villa a Hospital for the care of new patients.

With the support of the Armed Forces, the transfer and placement of beds, mattresses, sheets and night tables to implement the rooms will be carried out.

The Villa is the first fully accessible housing complex in Peru, with wider passages and lifts, podotactile floors and braille signage. It also has apartments designed for people with disabilities.

Following the Pan and Parapan American Games, the Peruvian government announced that all 65 Peruvian medallists would receive an apartment at the Villa. The delivery of the apartments is still guaranteed.

After overcoming the health emergency, the Peruvian State will fulfill its commitment to recognise the effort of the athletes and Para athletes by handling them the promised apartments.
