IPC Athletics is sad to learn that British two-time Paralympian Kevan McNicholas passed away on Tuesday 11 November 2014.

McNicholas competed at two Paralympic Games in 1984 at Stoke Mandeville, Great Britain and 1988 at Seoul, South Korea. At both Games he won silver medals in shot put.

He also won many international medals all around the world and was a stalwart of the British Wheelchair Athletics Association, serving on their Committee for many years.

McNicholas took up para-sport after he was left paralysed from the chest down in 1979 following a motorcycle accident.
