“We have a wide variety of transport options for people to choose from and the app is a one-stop navigation to give you the best routes, timings and prices to make the Games experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.”

The Go PyeongChang app is now live and ready to help you navigate your way around the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The exclusive transport app provides customised information for international visitors who may not be used to navigating the public transport systems in Korea.

The app is available in four languages – Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese – to make it very easy and convenient to use. Depending on whether you are a spectator, member of the media or another user you can customise Go PyeongChang to your needs and requirements (for example media can access media transport schedules through the app).

Users can compare the costs and travel times of different modes and routes of transport from different service providers including high-speed train, shuttle buses, express and intercity buses, subway, city bus, car sharing and taxis. You can then book and pay for your selected transportation directly on the app.

Available on iOS and Android, the app is expected to minimise the use of personal cars during the Games to ease traffic; provide a connected transport system that will meet the huge demand; be easy to navigate and help create a green Games.

POCOG Director General for Transport and Traffic, KANG Hee-up said, “The Go PyeongChang application has been designed to help make travelling around Gangwon Province as easy as possible for all our local and international visitors during Games time.

“We have a wide variety of transport options for people to choose from and the app is a one-stop navigation to give you the best routes, timings and prices to make the Games experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.”

Another application that all Games spectators should also download is the PyeongChang 2018 Official mobile app.

The App contains important information such as competition schedules; Cultural Olympiad event details; accommodation and transport information that will help spectators get the most from their time at PyeongChang 2018.

In addition, users can get a first-hand experience of the venues before arriving by enjoying some advanced technology features including 3D views and aerial footage which are all contained within the App.

When the Games begin the app will also contain all the latest event results, medal counts, athlete information and real-time event news so all the Games information you require will be at your fingertips. Once the user has selected their preferred event and/or country to follow, the app can send push notifications on related events to keep you up to date without having to open a page. GPS navigation based on user location and other customised features will also be available.
