The 26-year-old, guided by Oleg Kolodiichuk, defeated world champion Nikolay Polukhin in the biathlon World Cup in Finsterau, Germany, putting himself in good position to take the overall men’s visually impaired title ahead of the final World Cup races in March in Finland.
