WADA Talks with Director General David Howman

Following on from previous WADA Talks interviews with Sir Craig Reedie, Kirsty Coventry, Francis Dodoo and Francesco Ricci Bitti, WADA Director General David Howman, who finishes his role in June 2016, shares his views on the significant progress made by the anti-doping community in recent years.

In the interview, Howman discusses the main challenges the industry faces, the improvements to the World Anti-Doping Code, and the importance of collaboration and partnerships in protecting the rights of clean athletes.

“Our job is to ensure that those who are precluding clean athletes from getting a level playing field are kicked out of sport. We must remember that. We’ve got more than 90 per cent (of athletes) behind us, and we must use that effectively to ensure that those in the minority stop cheating. And if they are cheating, that they’re sanctioned,” said Howman in the interview.
