The Soch 2014 Closing theme will be Reaching the Impossible

The Sochi 2014 Paralympics will come to an end with what is expected to be a spectacular Closing Ceremony with a theme of “Reaching the Impossible.”

Morning

The women’s giant slalom kicks off, with Germany’s Anna Schaffelhuber, France’s Mariet Bochet and Russia’s Aleksandra Frantceva expected to be the ones to beat in the three classes. They will be going for their fifth, fourth and third golds in Sochi, respectively.

Afternoon

Russia’s Roman Petushkov will go for a record seventh gold medal at a Paralympic Winter Games, as he takes to the start line in the men’s 10km cross-country skiing event. He is the defending world champion in the event, and his biggest competition could come from his own teammates, including veteran skier Irek Zaripov.

Evening

The Sochi 2014 Paralympics will come to an end with what is expected to be a spectacular Closing Ceremony with a theme of “Reaching the Impossible.” The Ceremony will celebrate the achievements of the athletes in Sochi, and more than 460 artists will take part in the final hurrah of the Games.
