Whistler Celebrates International Paralympic Day

On 11 July, at the same day that the International Paralympic Day (IPD) will take place in Berlin, Germany, Paralympic fans can experience the excitement of Paralympic winter sports in Whistler, Canada. 06 Jul 2009 By IPC

From 13:00-16:00, Whistler Village Square will be the place to discover ways to get involved in the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games and experience first-hand the inspiration and excitement of Paralympic athletes. The event will not only showcase how sport unifies people around the world but also the particular chances and challenges sport represents for persons with a disability.

There will be interactive sport demonstrations as well as the possibility to talk to Paralympic athletes. Spectators will also have the chance to see the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Torch and Sumi, the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic mascot.
