Colombia's cyclist Carolina Munevar, Canada's triathlete Stefan Daniel and USA's archer Jeff Fabry are the three shortlisted Para athletes for the Americas ‘Athlete of the Month’ poll for September 2017.

The public are invited to vote for their winner via the Americas Paralympic Committee homepage and have time to do so until Monday (16 October).

The nominations are:

Carolina Munevar, Colombia

Won gold in the women's time trial C2 at the UCI Para Cycling Road World Championships in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

Stefan Daniel, Canada

Took his second world title in three years, improving from runner-up finishes at the last two major events, at the ITU World Para Triathlon Championships.

Jeff Fabry, USA

Four-time Paralympian and Paralympic champion Jeff Fabry won gold at the World Archery Para Championships – 14 years after winning his first world championship title.

 

The nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) from across the continent.

The 2017 Americas Athlete of the Month winners so far are:

• January – Gustavo Fernandez, Argentina, wheelchair tennis

• February – Alexander Cataldo, Chile, wheelchair tennis

• March – Maria Paula Barrera, Colombia, swimming

• April – Adam Dixon, Canada, ice hockey

• May – Bruna Costa Alexandre, Brazil, table tennis

• June – Brent Lakatos, Canada, athletics

• August – Diego Meneses, Colombia, Athletics
