When and where did you begin this sport?
He took up Para athletics in January 2018.
Why this sport?
"In the past football was my passion, so I felt that losing a leg would also made me lose part of myself so I needed another sport. In the end I focused entirely on Para athletics. But rehabilitation and 'just' walking again was not enough for me, I wanted to run. The first time I ran with [a running blade] it felt fantastic. I've was always fast when I played football. I felt as if I regained some of my former self."
Training Regime
He trains seven days a week, four days working on strength and three days on the track.

In July 2017 he was involved in a scooter accident on holidays in Java, Indonesia. After he was transferred to a hospital in Singapore his right leg was amputated below the knee. “My arteries were torn internally. The doctors had to amputate my leg to save my life." (, 08 Apr 2019;, 26 Mar 2018)

After his accident in Indonesia in 2017 he decided to pursue a career as a surgeon after he graduates from his medicine degree at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
