He took up the sport in 2008 at the CN Sabadell club in Spain.
Why this sport?
Having started swimming at a young age, he took a break from the sport to try other activities such as football, karate and athletics. He began swimming again after he was unable to join a water polo team because of his impairment.

"I have been in contact with a lot of sports doctors since I began competing internationally. They are the ones who help me the most during the most stressful moments in competition. I think I like sports medicine because I've actually experienced it. I would like to help people like me to be healthy so they can accomplish their goals either in the pool or in other sports."
