Call for Parallel Sessions for ICSEMIS 2012

Parties interested in delivering a scientific contribution at next year’s International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS) have until Sunday 1 May 2011 to enter their submission to event organizers.

Taking place at the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow between 19-24 July 2012, the event is the world’s largest sport science and medicine conference attracting delegates from across the globe.

Expected to attend are researchers, students and practitioners who will use ICSEMIS as an opportunity for multi and inter-disciplinary scientific exchange in the days leading up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The convention theme is: Inspiring a Learning Legacy, and the sub-themes designed to attract inter and multi-disciplinary contributions and focused papers from all disciplines, are:

• Athlete Welfare

• Eligibility and Inclusion

• Elite Performance

• Sports medicine and Prevention of Injuries

• Governance and Policy

• International Sports Development and Management

• Major Sporting Events

• Pedagogy

• Physical Activity and Health

Following the nominations of keynotes and parallel session from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) interested parties from every branch of sport and exercise are now invited to enter their submissions.

Submissions, should be a maximum of 750 words including title, brief synopsis of the session and full details of the all proposed speakers, and be with organizers by 1 May 2011. All submissions will then be reviewed by the ICSEMIS 2012 Scientific Committee and decisions returned by 1 July 2011.
