New Year's Message from IPC President

I would like to welcome each of you into 2010! 01 Jan 2010 By IPC

The International Paralympic Committee’s achievements last year were a credit to you all, culminating in a fruitful General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which has set great aspirations and goals for the future.

With only 70 days to go, the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games are just around the corner. For ten days in March 2010, the eyes of the world will be focused on excellent Paralympic Winter Sport in Vancouver and Whistler! I anticipate fair contests in the five winter sports, with skill, speed, and the joy of participation in the true spirit of Paralympic Sport. With such a dramatic mountainous background, we have a magnificent location which will serve the Paralympic Games at the highest level. We will most certainly see Paralympic Spirit in Motion.

My hope this year is for your confidence, loyalty and interest to remain not just with the IPC and the Paralympic Movement, but most especially with the athletes. They continue to find new ways to demonstrate the Paralympic values of courage, determination, inspiration and equality every day.

I wish you all a most fruitful and Happy New Year!

Sir Philip Craven MBE

President
