Sport specific information

When and where did you begin this sport?
He began practising javelin throw in 2016.
Why this sport?
"Initially I wanted to run, it is the first thing that comes to mind for an amputee, besides being the most difficult. But my height doesn't allow me to be very competitive. So I tried to throw the javelin and I fell in love. I can't think of anything else now. For me it has become like breathing. If I don't go to train at least three times a week, I feel sick, I go into abstinence. This experience has led me to be extremely positive."
Training Regime
He trains three times a week.

General interest

His right leg was amputated after he was involved in a motorcycle accident in 2016. (, 02 May 2019; YouTube channel, 18 May 2019)
Other information
Born in the Russian Federation, he moved to Italy at age 10. "My father was Italian, he was in Siberia for work reasons. My mother, on the other hand, is Russian. I spent the first 10 years of my life there. Once the [Soviet] regime collapsed, my father finished his work cycle in Russia and returned with me and my mother to Italy. The change was a bit traumatic. I came from another reality, even at school level. It was difficult because I didn't speak a word of Italian. Despite this, my father sent me to school immediately, in first grade." (, 02 May 2019)

He runs Fleur d'Ame, a florist in Bologna, Italy. (Facebook profile, 12 Dec 2019)
