Angelica Bernal is one of the breakthrough players to make the tour after several impressive tournaments in recent seasons.
Although in her early twenties, the Colombian has already reached two Parapan Am Games doubles finals and begun to make inroads into top tournaments throughout the tour.
Before Bernal’s switch to the main tour, she had reached number two in the girls’ world rankings after winning the singles title at the 2011 and 2012 Cruyff Foundation Junior Masters, as well as the doubles title in 2011 and 2013.
Alongside her success in the Futures Series tournaments, the right-hander has won several singles titles in ITF 3 Series events in South America, including the Colombia Open and Barranquilla Open.
She is a two-time Paralympian. At London 2012 she reached the doubles quarter-finals.
