Brazil to host International Para sporting Congress

The International Para sporting Congress was organised by the Brazilian Paralympic Academy (BPA), the education arm of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB).

“The BPA’s mission is to study and publish everything that is possible to improve Paralympic sports.”

Belo Horizonte, Brazil, will host the International Para sporting Congress, organised by the Brazilian Paralympic Academy (BPA), the education arm of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB), from 27-30 October.

More than 1,100 people and 37 national and international speakers are expected to attend the event, which will cover 10 different topics: high-performance training, professional training, evaluation in sports, functional classification, sport management, young athletes’ training and talents identification, injuries and rehabilitation, technological innovations, ergogenic resources and doping, and psychology.

“We will have the best specialists from Brazil and the world to provide information which will help our coaches, athletes and professionals who are now getting involved with Paralympic sports improve,” said CPB Technical Director Edilson Rocha.

“The BPA’s mission is to study and publish everything that is possible to improve Paralympic sports.”

CPB President and IPC Vice-president Andrew Parsons will give a keynote address titled ‘Paralympic sport in Brazil, 2008-2016’, whilst Iran’s sitting volleyball head coach Hadi Rezaiegarkani will be amongst the international speakers.
