Argentina celebrated a dominating 65-40 victory over Brazil to claim the Men’s 2018 South America Championship title on 7 December, in Lima, Peru.

The gold medal guarantees Argentina a trip back to Lima for the 2019 Parapan American Games.

Led by captain Adolfo Berdun, who joined Adrian Perez with 19 points each, Argentina captured back-to-back titles. Marcos Silva led the scoring for Brazil with 14 points.

All three medallists earned tickets to Lima 2019, with Colombia securing the final spot after beating Uruguay 79-45 in the bronze medal game.

Colombian captain Jhon Hernandaz led all scorers with 25 points, while Uruguay’s Fernando Polti led his side in scoring with 14 points.

Complete results from the South America Championship are available on the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation’s website.

The conclusion of the Championships completes the men’s field at the Parapan Ams: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and USA.

Mexico and Puerto Rico qualified for Lima 2019 via October’s Central America and Caribbean Championship.

Canada and reigning 2018 World Championships silver medallist USA qualified via the North American region.
