Among the 104 athletes set to compete at the Para Biathlon World Championships in Ostersund, Sweden, next week a French and a Norwegian are top contenders in the men's standing events.

Here you can get to know more about them.

Benjamin Daviet (FRA) vs. Nils-Erik Ulset (NOR)

Benjamin Daviet might not have as many podium finishes this season, but he should not be underestimated. The double PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic champion made it triple gold at last year’s World Championship to become the standing biathlete to beat.

Nils-Erik Ulset is solely focused on biathlon, and with the Worlds not being too far from his home country, the Norwegian is expected to leave it all on the Swedish snow.

He took World Championship silver in the middle distance last year in Prince George, Canada, and Paralympic bronze in the long distance two years ago. He is hungry for his first major gold medal since 2013.
