With 16 teams competing, the 17th edition of the Malmo Ladies Intercup will be the largest women’s goalball event in history when it takes place in Malmo, Sweden, from 6-8 May.

Brazil has been drawn in Group A along with Belgium, Ukraine and Finland. Reigning world champions the USA are placed in a tough-looking Group B together with current Paralympic champions Japan, Greece and Hungary.

Hosts Sweden will face Israel, Great Britain and Turkey in Group C, whilst Algeria are joined by Canada, Denmark and Russia in Group D.

The group-winners will advance to the semi-finals.

Last year, the USA claimed the Malmo Lady Intercup title following a 3-2 win over Turkey in the final. Japan picked up the bronze after defeating Russia 2-1.
