Impairment
She was born with proximal femoral focal deficiency [PFFD], resulting in her left leg missing the fibula, and the tibia and femur being shorter than usual. Her left foot was also underdeveloped, with no ankle joint and missing two toes. During her life she has had more than 20 operations, including having the leg amputated below the knee in May 2005.
