Other information
RETURN TO THE POOL
He worked as a swimming coach before the deterioration of his condition forced him to retire in 2013. He spent five years away from the sport, but returned to the pool in 2018 after meeting local businessman and public servant Jose Raymond. Raymond introduced him to Singaporean swimmer and coach Ang Peng Siong who encouraged him to try Para swimming. "I like the water, and I like to work with kids, so not being able to coach was a big loss for me. I stopped going to the pool five years ago because of safety. I'm fine in the water, but getting out of the pool and walking to my wheelchair is an issue. So much has happened since the morning that Jose Raymond brought coach Ang Peng Siong to have breakfast with me."
