IPC Statement following IOC Executive Board decision

Statement from IPC President Andrew Parsons: “The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board on Wednesday (25 January) made important decisions on the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competition. We acknowledge and will follow with interest the IOC proposed process.

“In November 2022, the IPC General Assembly made decisions on the same topic in line with rules that govern the Paralympic Movement. The IPC General Assembly will meet again in the third quarter of this year to have further discussions on this subject.

“We wish to reiterate that we hope and pray that the conflict comes to an end, that no more lives are taken, and that we can run sports and politics separately.”
