Call for nominations for ‘IPC 2022 International Women’s Day Award’

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) invites all Members to send their nominations for the ‘IPC 2022 International Women’s Day Recognition Award.’

This award recognises women and organisations (NPCs, IFs) in the Paralympic Movement who have and continue to inspire, support and emulate the Paralympic ideals and promote gender equality within the Movement.

The 2022 edition will include four categories of which Members can nominate one candidate for each. 

Leadership category 
This category will recognise sustained and consistent leadership over an extended period of time, advocacy, overall contributions and impact promoting and supporting women in sport. Candidates to be considered can include coaches, current or former athletes, administrators and officials. 

Emerging Leadership category  
This category will recognise early-stage career leadership, advocacy, overall contributions and impact promoting and supporting women in sport. Candidates to be considered include coaches, current and former athletes, administrators and elected officials. 
 
National Paralympic Committee category 
This category will recognise the leadership, impact and effective change initiated by a National Paralympic Committees (NPC) who promote and support equality and inclusion of women in sport, e.g. through building knowledge, awareness and skills through programmes, projects, governance initiatives, mentorship programmes and services. An NPC must be an NPC in good standing at the time of nomination. Self-nominations are welcome. 

International Federation category 
This category will recognise the leadership, impact and effective change initiated by an International Federations (IFs) who promote and support equality and inclusion of women in sport, e.g. through building knowledge, awareness and skills through programmes, projects, governance initiatives, mentorship programmes and services. An IF must be a recognised IF at the time of nomination submission. Self-nominations are welcome. 

Members can send their nominations using this link to an online nomination form by COB 28 November 2021. The IPC will promote the finalists in the lead-up to the International Women’s Day 2022 with the announcement of the winner on 8 March 2022.
