Luis Flores has been chosen as Americas ‘Athlete of the Month’ for January after receiving an overwhelming 91 per cent of the public vote.

The Chilean table tennis player stood out on home ground by claiming two gold medals at the Chile Para Open 2020.

Canadian cyclist Kate O’Brien, who took the rainbow jersey of track world champion in the women’s 500m time trial C4 with a world record time of 35.223s, ended second.

USA’s Nordic skier Dan Cnossen finished third following his performance at the World Cup in Altenberg and Dresden, Germany, where he claimed one gold and two silvers. 

The nominations were compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) from across the continent.
