The nominations for January 2020’s Americas ‘Athlete of the Month’ poll have been announced. All sports enthusiast are invited to vote for their winner via the Americas Paralympic Committee homepage until Wednesday (19 February). 

Dan Cnossen, USA, Nordic skiing
Was crowned national champion in the middle-distance and sprint cross-country, and biathlon sprint in Midway, Utah. He continued his impressive results oversees, capturing gold in the biathlon relay and silver in the cross-country short distance sitting and biathlon sprint events at the World Cup in Altenberg and Dresden, Germany.

Kate O’Brien, Canada, cycling
Took the rainbow jersey of world champion in the women’s 500m time trial C4 at the Track World Championships on home soil in Milton with a world record time of 35.223s. It was her comeback competition after suffering a serious head injury.

Luis Flores, Chile, table tennis
Stood out on home ground by claiming two gold medals at the Chile Para Open 2020.

Nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) from across the continent.
