Para alpine skiing is an exciting and technical sport, with athletes racing down steep slopes at speeds of over 100 kilometres per hour. At the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, champions will be crowned in 30 medal events.

Here are 10 Para alpine skiers to watch when the Games open on 6 March.

 

Giacomo Bertagnolli (Italy)

Giacomo Bertagnolli is seeking his fifth Paralympic gold medal on home soil. The two-time Paralympian aims to build on his success after winning four medals – two golds and two silvers – in the men’s vision impaired category at Beijing 2022.

 

Karl Eriksson (Canada)

A rising star from Canada, Karl Eriksson is ready to make his Paralympic debut extra special. Competing with guide Sierra Smith, Eriksson won two silver medals at the 2025 World Championships and is set to be a force to be reckoned with in the men’s vision impaired category. 

 

Arthur Bauchet (France)

In his Paralympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, Arthur Bauchet captured four silver medals in the men’s standing category. He earned three golds and a bronze at Beijing 2022 – can he make it four golds at Milano Cortina 2026?

 

Robin Cuche (Switzerland)

Robin Cuche heads to his fourth Winter Games in search of his maiden Paralympic medal. He finished runner-up in the 2024/2025 overall standings and captured a silver in the men’s slalom standing at the 2025 World Championships in Maribor, Slovenia.

 

Jesper Pedersen (Norway)

Jesper Pedersen was unstoppable at Beijing 2022, winning four golds and a silver in the men’s sitting category. He claimed a gold in the slalom and a silver in the giant slalom at the World Championships in Maribor.

 

Veronika Aigner (Austria)

Veronika Aigner won two gold medals with her sister and guide Elisabeth in the women’s vision impaired category at Beijing 2022. The Aigner siblings – Veronika, Johannes, and Barbara, along with Elisabeth – won a total of nine medals and helped Austria top the Para alpine skiing medals table in Beijing.

 

Anna-Maria Rieder (Germany)

Four years after taking a bronze medal in the women’s slalom sitting at Beijing 2022, Anna-Maria Rieder is preparing to top the Paralympic podium for the first time when she takes to the slopes at Milano Cortina 2026. The 2023 world champion finished on the World Cup podium 10 times in the previous season.

 

Ebba Aarsjoe (Sweden)

Ebba Aarsjoe won two golds and a bronze in the women’s standing category at Beijing 2022. She heads to her second Paralympic Winter Games fresh from winning the Overall Globe and her eighth World title in 2025.

 

Audrey Pascual Seco (Spain)

Audrey Pascual Seco is a rising star in the women’s sitting category, finishing on the podium 11 times on the World Cup circuit in the 2024/2025 season. She is a two-time World silver medallist and aims to take the spotlight on her Paralympic debut.

 

Anna-Lena Forster (Germany)

Anna-Lena Forster is one of the most successful Para alpine skiers in the world, with nine Paralympic medals to her name. She has also won more than 130 World Cup podiums and 19 World Championship podiums in a decorated career spanning more than 10 years.
